So What's Cooking? Good Looking?
Glow in the dark JELL-O shots? The first thing that came to my vegan mind was, is this safe? Like, it has to be some sort of chemicals in them, right? Well, after doing research I found out in order to make the JELL-O shots glow one of the ingredients has to be tonic water.
Tonic water is a carbonated beverage that has a chemical called quinine dissolved in it. ... Under an ultraviolet "black light," the quinine in tonic water makes the water fluoresce a brilliant, bright blue (even though only a relatively small amount of quinine is dissolved in the water).
I was interested to see how cool looking this would turned out and how tasty it would be. It's kinda radical if I say so myself. I mean... glow in the dark JELL-O shots? com'n somebody! So here we have it .....
Glow in the Dark Jolly Rancher Jell-O Shots
Below I've done ingredients for both vegan and non-vegan.
Non-Vegan Ingredients
1 3-ounce box green apple gelatin
1 cup boiling water
4 ounces apple vodka
2 ounces peach schnapps
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup tonic tonic
NOTE: b/c tonic water has a bitter taste cutting it in half with regular water will soften the bitterness)
Instructions
Mix the liquors and any juices with cold water and chill in the refrigerator so they are a consistent temperature.
Pour the gelatin into a bowl.
In a medium pot bring water to a boil.
Add water to the bowl of gelatin stirring until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Stir in chilled liquor, juice, and water mix.
Pour into shot glasses, molds, or a baking pan for a sheet of jello to cut up once set.
Refrigerate until the liquid sets. This should be at least 2 hours, but overnight is recommended.
Serve cold.
Vegan Ingredients
