Summer time is near and let me tell you, I get sooo thirsty in the summer! Regular hydration is a vital component to maintaining good health. Many people like myself struggle to drink enough water daily. Well, I have a delicious solution to this problem, just add flavor hunny. When I say flavor, I'm talking fruits darling. This way you'll always have something to hydrate you that's tasty. Hellooo? Poooow!!
Agua frescas is most popular in the Mexican culture and is the best way to enjoy fresh fruit drinks made simply by blending fruit with water, lime and a bit of sweetener.
"One that would have the fruit, must clime the tree!" So let's get climbing!
Cucumber Mint Aqua Fresca
Fun Fact: Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
Ingredients
Pinch of mint leafs
3 cucumber
6-9 cups of water
2 limes
1 pinch of salt
6 table spoons of cane sugar or agave
Peel.. Chop.. Squeeze...
Instructions
Cut ends of cucumbers, slice a few pieces to put aside to decorate your pitcher. Peel cucumbers, then chop them to make it easier to blend.
Add 7 cups of water to a blender and chopped cucumbers, blend for 3 to 5 mins. Strain cucumber water to remove pulp.
Squeeze lime juice into a bowl, add sugar mix for 1 to 2 mins until diluted. Add a pinch of salt to taste. Pour mixture into your pitcher, add cucumber water, add cucumber slices and mint to garnish.
